A deposit is almost always instant — the casino wants your money in quickly. The road back varies enormously: from a few minutes to five working days, and some methods cannot return money at all. Which is why the method to choose is the withdrawal method.
Choose your withdrawal method, not your deposit method. Funding an account is instant practically everywhere: the operator wants the money in as fast as possible and puts no obstacles in the way. The road back, though, differs between methods by a factor of hundreds in time.
Two more things come with it, and people usually learn them at the worst possible moment: a first withdrawal is impossible without verification, and money can normally only leave by the route it arrived. Both are easy to handle in advance and completely impossible to handle after the fact.
Below are six reference methods, one per type. The figures are indicative: exact limits and timings depend on jurisdiction, currency and the individual operator’s policy, so always take the final numbers from its cashier page.

| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal | Withdrawal possible | Min deposit | Hidden fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PayPal / Skrill / Neteller | Instant | 0–24 h | Yes | $10–$20 | Rare; currency conversion possible |
| Bitcoin / USDT | Minutes | Minutes–hours | Yes | $10–$20 | Network fee |
| Visa / Mastercard | Instant | 1–5 days | Visa usually yes, Mastercard not everywhere | $10–$20 | Your bank may treat it as a cash advance |
| Paysafecard (voucher) | Instant | — | No, deposits only | $10 | None; conversion possible |
| Apple Pay / Google Pay | Instant | — | Usually not | $10–$20 | None |
| Bank transfer | 1–3 days | 3–7 days | Yes | $20–$50 | Up to $50 per transfer, sometimes more |
Three conclusions follow straight from the table:
The second factor is KYC1. A first withdrawal from a licensed casino is impossible without verification, and reviewing documents takes anywhere from a few hours to several days under the terms of service.
Do not wait for a first withdrawal. Submit your documents right after signing up: the process is unavoidable if you intend to play regularly, and doing it early removes the most galling delay of all — the one that lands exactly when you want your winnings.
The third factor is the same-method rule. Withdrawals are almost always permitted only to the account the deposit arrived from. That is not a casino whim but an AML requirement2, and simultaneously protection against your money leaving to somebody else’s account if your login is compromised. An exception is made where the deposit method physically cannot receive incoming transfers — then the casino must offer an alternative.
The main drawback is not obvious: a deposit from an e-wallet frequently forfeits your right to a bonus. That is a standard exclusion in promotion terms, and it tends to be discovered after the money is already in.
Of the three popular wallets, PayPal is the most demanding about who it works with, so it appears only at properly regulated operators; Skrill and Neteller are considerably more widespread.
There are two drawbacks, and neither can be engineered away:
The second has a simple solution — hold your gaming balance in a stablecoin: USDT on TRC-20 combines a steady rate with a low fee. For the first, choose a cheap network: Litecoin, or that same TRC-20, rather than Bitcoin at peak load.
Sites accepting coins are collected in the crypto casino rankings, where provably fair and the first-deposit sequence are covered as well.
The difference is fundamental. A debit-card deposit is an ordinary payment. A credit-card deposit is a cash withdrawal in the bank’s terms, with a fee and interest accruing from day one and no grace period. Playing casino games with borrowed money is a bad idea for this reason too.
The exception is a myPaysafecard account: that is a full account capable of receiving incoming payments, and some casinos will pay out to it.
Vouchers are sold in fixed denominations — you cannot enter your own amount.
A fixed denomination works like a hard bank limit. To add money you have to get up, walk to a retailer and buy another voucher — and the impulse usually cools in the meantime. A string of “just twenty more dollars” deposits is something a voucher blocks physically.
The flip side is exactly the same: you cannot withdraw this way, because the recipient does not know which account the payment came from. Plan an alternative withdrawal route before depositing, not after winning.
Sites with genuinely good mobile adaptation are in the mobile casino rankings.
The method remains the choice of two groups: high rollers, and people who got lucky once in a big way. Both are interested in exactly one thing — limits.
Bonus eligibility depends on how you fund the account. Wallets, crypto, vouchers and mobile payments regularly appear on the excluded list — the deposit goes through, the money lands, and no promotion is credited. It cannot be restored retroactively: eligibility is evaluated at the moment of the transaction.
Check that clause before depositing, not after. Current offers and an analysis of their terms are on the craps bonuses page.
| Source of the fee | Typical size | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Cash advance on a credit card | The bank’s fee plus interest | Pay with a debit card or a wallet |
| Currency conversion | ~2–3% | Hold the casino account in the method’s currency |
| Crypto network fee | Depends on network and load | USDT on TRC-20 or Litecoin instead of Bitcoin at peak hours |
| Bank transfer | Up to $50, sometimes more | A wallet or crypto for regular withdrawals |
| Second withdrawal in a month | A flat charge at some casinos | Withdraw less often and in larger amounts; read the cashier terms |
A method with “no fees” and a 3% conversion costs more than one with a flat $5 fee on any amount above $167. What you compare is not individual lines of terms but how much money actually reached your account.
What follows is the order of actions. The timings below are indicative: the operator’s actual obligations are written into its terms of service, and that is what to check against.
Do not start a chargeback through your bank while a dialogue with the casino is still running. Disputing the transaction will almost certainly close the account along with any remaining balance, and it lands in databases shared across the industry — after which the trouble follows you to other sites. A chargeback is a last resort, for when a casino has stopped responding altogether.
Four steps worth taking before you win, rather than after:
Send your documents right after signing up. The process is unavoidable for any regular player, and doing it early removes a multi-day delay at withdrawal.
Withdrawals go back to the same account the deposit came from. If your funding method only works one way, find out the alternative in advance.
Every method has its own minimum and maximum per transaction, and some casinos apply monthly ceilings. A large win may be paid in instalments.
Compare the amount that lands, not the lines in the terms: a 3% conversion beats a flat $5 fee only below $167.
Same game, different priorities — and a different right answer for each.
| Player profile | Recommended method | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | Debit card | Everybody has one, works both ways, universally accepted |
| Speed matters | Crypto or an e-wallet | Instant deposit, withdrawal in minutes or hours |
| Privacy matters | Voucher in, crypto out | Hides your payment details, but not your identity: KYC is compulsory |
| High roller | Crypto or bank transfer | The highest transaction limits |
| Playing from a phone | Apple Pay or Google Pay | A two-tap deposit; a different method will be needed to withdraw |
| Counting on a bonus | Debit card | Wallets, crypto and vouchers are frequently excluded from bonus terms |
